Description
Balanced pressure thermostatic steam traps are devices
that sense the temperature difference between condensate and
saturated steam. These traps remain closed until the condensate
collecting in the trap subcools enough to actuate the valve. The
amount of subcooling varies among designs, and is tailored to various
applications ranging from biotechnology processing to apartment steam
radiators. Because these traps respond to temperature, they have
excellent air venting characteristics. Applications with quick or
frequent start-ups perform best using balanced pressure thermostatic
traps.
